Tim Prythero is renowned for his museum-quality, hand-finished hydrostone sculptures depicting beautifully weathered scenes of life in the American Southwest. His work is held in permanent museum collections (including the New Mexico Museum of Art and the Albuquerque Museum) and was heavily featured in high-end Santa Fe/Albuquerque galleries like El Nicho, Galeria Ortega, amd Weems.
These four architectural pieces date directly to 1990 and 1991, representing a gorgeous, cohesive era of his early career. Every tiny detail—from the peeling turquoise paint on the doors to the miniature logs, straw brooms, and dried chili ristras—is painstakingly handcrafted and painted.
Provenance & Authenticity Details:
Hand-inscribed "© PRYTHERO 91" and "PR 90 ©" on the outer edges.
Bottom bases feature his signature blue-stamped "TP" initials and a full, hand-written "Tim Prythero" signature in marker (Additional pictures upon request).
Piece Details & Dimensions (Left to Right):
The Adobe Window (1991): Window box with dried desert plants, chili ristra, and miniature chimney. (~10 5" H x 8" W)
Pueblo Door & Horno (1990): Classic wooden ladder, screen door, straw broom, and traditional outdoor mud oven (horno). (~9" H x 10.25" W)
The Weathered Turquoise Door: Narrow architectural slice with protruding ceiling beams (vigars), peeling blue door, and broom. (~9.5" H x 7" W)
Courtyard Bell & Gate: Semi-enclosed courtyard featuring a wooden belfry with a metal bell, open turquoise gate, firewood pile, and an horno oven with a bread paddle inside. (~8" H x 12" W)
Condition: Beautiful vintage condition. All intricate components are incredibly well-preserved.
