Famously nicknamed "The Brick" due to its heavy, blocky rectangular shape and robust weight, the Argus C3 was manufactured in Ann Arbor, Michigan, and became one of the most popular and durable 35mm cameras in American history. Based on the "Color-Matic" settings plate inside the case (visible in your third image) and the configuration of the dials, this specific unit dates back to the mid-to-late 1950s (circa 1954–1958).

• The Design & Optics: The fourth image showcases the iconic front faceplate featuring a 50mm f/3.5 Argus Coated Cintar lens. The distinctive external gears on the upper left physically couple the separate rangefinder viewing window to the main focusing ring of the lens.
• The Color-Matic Plate: Your third image shows a pristine metal guide plate attached to the inside of the case leather lid. Introduced by Argus in 1954, the "Color-Matic" system simplified shooting by color-coding camera settings (yellow for Kodachrome, red for Ektachrome/Plus-X, and green for flash) so everyday families could get perfect exposures without calculating complex lighting math.
