We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Hygienist to join our dynamic dental team while our Hygienist is on Maternity leave. This may result in a permanent full time position at our office.
October 1st, 2026- Feb 1st, 2027 our wonderful Hygienist will be on leave and we are looking for the right person to temporally fill her role.
$50 an hour, plus production bonuses and also a $1,500 bonus after completion of coverage
Temporary, Full-time
This is an accelerated hygiene temp position. You will have a full time Dental Assistant to help assist your needs. An accelerated or assisted hygiene schedule uses a dedicated dental assistant to split tasks with a hygienist across two rooms, allowing a practice to see more patients safely and efficiently
In this vital role, you will provide exceptional dental hygiene services, ensuring patient comfort and safety while maintaining the highest standards of infection control and patient care. Duties
Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to promote optimal oral health
Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays), ensuring proper technique and patient safety in compliance with dental imaging protocols
Assist with patient assessments by recording vital signs, medical history, and current medications
Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions
Maintain accurate and detailed medical records using electronic health records (EHR) systems such as Eaglesoft or Open Dental
Follow strict infection prevention management protocols, including aseptic techniques and sterilization of dental equipment
Support the dental team during procedures through chairside assisting, including handing instruments and managing dental supplies
Skills
Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry and pediatrics
Experience with pediatric dentistry procedures and patient care techniques for children
Ability to perform dental x-ray procedures safely while adhering to HIPAA regulations for patient confidentiality
Excellent client communication skills to educate patients effectively about their dental health needs
Familiarity with infection control standards specific to healthcare environments in accordance with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise
Competence in medical imaging, vital signs measurement, and understanding of dental equipment operation
Knowledge of EMR/EHR management systems for accurate documentation review and medical coding where applicable
