This is a late Victorian to Edwardian era (circa 1890–1910) American ash or quarter-sawn golden oak combination dresser and washstand, often referred to as a "step-back" or "drop-well" commode dresser.
Configuration & Form: Features an asymmetrical, multi-level design. The taller side houses three stacked drawers with classic brass-plated bail pulls and decorative stamped escutcheons (keyholes). The dropped side includes a single-door commode cabinet beneath a lower surface, historically used to hold a ceramic water pitcher and basin.
Mirror & Towel Bar: Crowned with an arched, beveled swivel mirror suspended within carved "wishbone" harp supports, accompanied by an integrated two-tier spindle towel bar on the side.
Condition: Excellent vintage condition. The wood displays a rich, warm tiger oak grain and glossy finish with minor surface marks and age-appropriate wear that add character. Mirror silvering and brass hardware remain intact.
