Used this a while ago, but I have not used it since. It may have been 8+ years since last use. I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT WORKS ON CARPET SINCE LAST USE. Has the original booklet, long extension cord. I plugged it in, and it turns on all switches work. It sounds like the pump is working, it dispenses solution and brushes spin. I just have not tested it on the carpet since the last time I used it. I wiped it down and cleaned out tank to the best of my ability. I CAN NOT GUARANTEE THE PERFORMANCE IT DOES ON CARPET NOR THE RESULTS. I DO NOT KNOW HOW IT WORKS ON CARPETS SINCE THE LAST TIME I USED IT.
