Cuyahoga is the story "Lear," who lives in the suburbs of Clevandria in the 1980's. Lear struggles with love, poverty, his Irish-Catholic identity and basic disillusionments like: “Where does adolescent end and adulthood begin?” And, “Where does the magic seem to go when you turn 18, 19, 20?” Lear doesn’t know, but he ultimately decides that the answer to all his problems is to walk across the ice of a frozen Lake Drearie and start a new life in Canandria. The allegory evolves and approaches its conclusion where the final curtain is set. But does Lear embark on this dangerous journey? Or is it just a figment of his imagination? Does he succeed? Does he perish? Or does he just examine the predicament from the future? We're not sure, but if you believe strongly enough in Lear, or rock hard enough to Cuyahoga, he might just make it!
