The Festival Event Coordinator will lead the planning and on‑the‑ground coordination of the 2026 Friendship Festival, working closely with NWCC leadership, volunteers, vendors, and community partners. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in dynamic environments, enjoys community engagement, and can manage multiple moving parts with confidence.
Event Planning & Coordination
• Lead the planning and execution of the Friendship Festival held in August 2026.
• Develop event timelines, checklists, and logistics plans.
• Coordinate site layout, signage, banners, and festival flow.
Vendor & Activity Management
• Recruit, schedule, and manage entertainment vendors, including:
o Kids’ face painting
o Henna Tattoo Artists
o Cultural games and activity providers
o Musicians and performance groups
• Coordinate food stall vendors, ensuring diversity, safety compliance, and smooth operations.
• Maintain clear communication with all vendors regarding setup, requirements, and expectations.
Community Engagement & Outreach
• Build relationships with local artists, cultural groups, small businesses, and community partners.
• Support outreach efforts to ensure broad community participation.
• Assist with volunteer recruitment and Coordination.
Event Logistics & Operations
o Oversee equipment rentals, permits, insurance, and safety protocols.
o Manage day‑of operations, including vendor check‑in, troubleshooting, and activity flow.
o Ensure festival spaces are welcoming, inclusive, and accessible.
Marketing & Communications Support
o Assist with promotional materials, social media updates, and community announcements.
o Coordinate placement of banners, posters, and event signage.
Qualifications
o Experience in event planning, festival coordination, community programming, or related fields.
o Strong organizational and multitasking skills.
o Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities.
o Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
o Comfort working with multicultural communities and intergenerational audiences.
o Availability on evenings/weekends as needed leading up to the festival.
o Ability to lift to 25 lbs and work outdoors during event days.
Schedule & Compensation: Part‑time position from April–August 2026.
o Hours vary weekly depending on planning and event timelines.
