We are currently seeking a new CAREER COACH for our CBDS (Community Based Day Services) Program in Sandwich to provide ON-SITE and COMMUNITY counseling, training and individual instruction to our wonderful LIFE residents with learning disabilities to help them learn skills to reach their full potential in the workplace.
Position ideal is 30 - 35 hours weekly and are 8AM-ish-4PM - ish
Applicant must:
*Be patient, outgoing and organized
*SMILES REQUIRED!
*BE A TEAM PLAYER AS WE ARE ONLY EFFECTIVE WHEN THE TEAM IS WORKING ON THE SAME GOALS FOR THE INDIVIDUALS WE SUPPORT
*Ability to think out of the box appreciated.
*Have excellent verbal and training skills.
*Enjoy working with people of different age groups and abilities.
*Ability to maintain appropriate friendly boundaries.
*Proficiency in basic technology (examples: Microsoft Office, email, training platform, etc.)
*Have the ability to support learning and cognitively disabled adults to help them build confidence and independence in the workplace.
*Must provide resident transportation to and from employment sites and will occasionally need to use personal vehicle (will be reimbursed for mileage) if needed.
*Must have the stamina to be present in the varied workplaces with the resident(s) to provide proper coaching support.
*Must role model appropriate social and workplace behavior.

Requirements:
Experience in Retail, Restaurant, Hospitality or Training background excellent
High School diploma (or equivalent) with some college or technical coursework ideal
Experience with the Learning Disabled population highly desired (personal or Special Olympics experience valued!)
A Patient and Kind approach is mandatory!!!
WE WILL TRAIN THE RIGHT CANDIDATE
MUST be willing to attend any required classes per LIFE or DDS; valid driver's license required with an acceptable driving record; must be able to pass CORI and fingerprinting, and DPPC as per DDS.
