FULL‑TIME SERVICE WRITER – TEKMETRIC SOFTWARE PREFERRED
Location: New Market, MD
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (some days flexible)
Pay: Hourly + Commission
Mechanics on Wheelz is a fast‑growing, family‑owned automotive repair shop looking for an experienced Full‑Time Service Writer. If you’re organized, customer‑focused, and comfortable managing a digital workflow, you’ll fit right in. Experience with Tekmetric software is preferred, but strong experience with any modern shop management system is welcome.
Responsibilities
Write and manage repair orders using Tekmetric (or learn quickly)
Build accurate estimates, labor lines, and parts lists
Communicate with customers by phone and text
Check in vehicles and document concerns clearly
Coordinate workflow between technicians and customers
Ensure timely updates and professional service throughout the day
Requirements
Automotive experience / sales – minimum 5 years required
Tekmetric software experience preferred
Strong customer service and communication skills
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a busy shop
Professional, reliable, and detail‑oriented
Bilingual a plus
