WoofMeow is currently accepting applications for our upcoming hiring round. We are looking to bring on a new team member within the next month, with the new hire ideally ready to begin training in early–mid September.
We are a Brooklyn pet care company known for reliability, professionalism, and genuine care for animals. We are not an app and we are not gig work. Many of our clients have been with us for years, and we value team members who enjoy building trusted relationships with pets and their families.
We are looking for a reliable, active local pet care provider who enjoys working independently, being outdoors, caring for both dogs and cats, and moving throughout Brooklyn during the day.
This is a part-time independent contractor position with an 8-month commitment. It is ideal for someone who lives nearby and wants steady supplemental income while pursuing other goals.
At a Glance
* Average weekly earnings: approximately $250–$500 depending on availability and assignments
* Holiday periods: approximately $400–$700/week when business volume is higher

Job Includes
* Dog walking on weekdays between approximately 8 AM–4/5 PM and some weekends
* Walking medium and large dogs confidently and safely
* Cat sitting visits depending on schedule
* Caring for cats and occasionally other small pets such as rabbits or guinea pigs
* Sending visit updates and photos through our pet care app
* Following detailed client instructions
* Handling multiple keys, picking up and dropping off keys or lockboxes for clients
We are primarily looking to fill the daytime shift between 8 AM–4/5 PM. You will not work that entire window every day, but you must be available during that period to receive assignments.
There may also be opportunities for additional work outside of those hours.
You will receive two days off each week, though those days will rotate based on scheduling needs and client bookings.

Requirements
You must:
* Be comfortable and experienced with both dogs and cats
* Be confident handling and walking dogs of different sizes, including medium and large dogs
* Live in or near Bushwick, Bed-Stuy, Crown Heights, or Cypress Hills
* Be willing to work throughout all of our service areas
* Commit to the position for a minimum of 8 months
* Have your own reliable transportation — bike, e-bike, electric scooter, or car
* Be comfortable walking, biking/traveling, climbing stairs, and working outdoors
* Be willing to work in rain, snow, heat, and cold
* Be reliable, punctual, organized, and able to follow instructions carefully
* Be comfortable working independently
Public transportation and Citi Bike do not qualify as primary transportation for this position.

Holiday Availability
Holidays are our busiest time of year, as many clients travel and rely on us to care for their pets.
Pet Care Providers should expect to be available during major holiday periods that occur during their contract, including:
* Labor Day Weekend
* Columbus Day
* Veterans Day
* Thanksgiving Week/Weekend
* Christmas Week/Weekend
* New Year’s Eve/Day
* Other holidays occurring during the 8-month contract
Holiday periods are some of our highest-demand times for pet care services and provide opportunities for increased assignments and holiday pay.

Independent Contractor Position
This is an independent contractor (1099) position.
Pet Care Providers operate as independent service providers, and assignments are based on availability, scheduling needs, and client bookings.
An independent contractor agreement is required before beginning work.
We are looking for providers who can commit to a minimum of 8 months.

Compensation
Pay is per assignment, not hourly.
Rates generally range from $12–$16 per visit, depending on the assignment.
Team members who complete multiple visits in a geographically organized route typically average approximately $22 per active working hour, not including travel time.
Most team members earn approximately $250–$500 per week, depending on availability and the number of assignments.
During busy holiday periods, weekly earnings can range approximately $400–$700.
Pet Care Providers are paired with dogs and cats who live near one another whenever possible to keep routes efficient.
The more visits you are available to complete reliably, the more you can earn.
This is supplemental income, not a full-time salary.
