Hi there. Thanks for looking. This iMac is in perfect working order and very good physical shape. It has lifted its life so far in my climate controled recording studio, and despite the pretty massive size of recording projects I’ve been working on, it has always hung in there and performed admirably. The only reason I upgraded is because my vision is getting crappy as I get old and my desk is really deep, so I frankly need a huge monitor at this point.
If you reach out to me, I’m happy to take photos of the actual machine, fire it up and take a screenshot of the system information page.
That said, the machine originally had 8 GB of RAM and I upgraded it with two additional 16GB sticks for a total of 40GB. From what I’m seeing, it would be possible right now to take out the 2x4GB modules and upgrade them to 2x16GB for about $150, leaving you with a 64GB machine for ~$1050 all in.
The 256 GB internal SSD is nothing to write home about, but with an external thunderbolt SSD, you’re getting better performance than using your system drive for whatever media work you’re doing.
If I had just built a sensible desk, I probably would be running this five years from now.
My asking price does not include the original keyboard or mouse, but I will include a compatible older generation Mac usb keyboard with mechanical keys and an older generation magic mouse with replaceable AA batteries on it.
