Are you an empathetic person who knows how to make shared space work for yourself and others in your household? If you are a reasonably neat, honest, employed person 40+ with income that allows you to afford rent of $675/month plus shared utilities, please read on.
I’m a 57-year-old woman searching for a housemate to share my 2-bedroom, 1100-sf West Asheville rental apartment, five miles from downtown. Attractive landscaping, HUGE and breezy back porch, kind landlady, safe neighborhood.
Large kitchen, washer & dryer, and pets are OK with landlord approval (two cats already in residence). Available Sept. 1.
My politics are liberal, and I support human diversity and am open to talking to people of all ages, gender expressions, and colors/sizes. Fellow neurodivergent people are welcome and invited to reach out.
My neatness level is average, with occasional struggles with energy level and health. I want to share space with someone who wants the same thing from their home that I do: peace, refuge, quiet, mutual respect and a place that’s a pleasure to live in.
Here’s what I am looking for:
-Empathy and compassion: You think about how your presence impacts those around you.
-Ability to listen and communicate: You can quickly share if there’s something you want the person you share space with to know.
-Character and resources that support character: An honest, decent person who can pay rent regularly and on time, and give 30 days notice (no lease).
-Good executive function: You know how to manage your money, your work, and your life.
-Self awareness: You are aware of your strengths and flaws, and don’t make excuses.
You have a rental history and good references.
