This is not a Bed and Breakfast - no food is provided.

We tend to keep the house cool, and do not typically run the furnace at this time of year(but the room has a space heater). Summer in Berkeley can be quite cool and foggy, so please be prepared. Wearing layers is what most locals do.

We will ask that you remove your shoes before entering the house (so bring your comfy slippers:)

This is a suitcase/laptop situation, unfortunately, there is no storage space outside the room.

Two very sweet kitties in residence. They spend most of their time outside, and sleep in the garage.

Access to (shared) laundry facilities downstairs.

We are a 50-ish couple who work full time in Berkeley. She is American, he is European. Easy going (or at least we think so :). This tends to be a pretty quiet household, as we are both busy with work, and love to read, garden, hike, bike, cook, etc. Definitely not an Animal House type of environment:)

Walking distance to North Berkeley BART, the shuttle to LBNL, Monterey Market, Chez Panisse, two supermarkets, many great restaurants and lots of great take-out, public pool, public library. AC Transit bus stops nearby. Folks who stay here typically BART, bus, or walk to Campus. Street parking is easy, but we are in a "permit zone", so if you need to park your car during weekdays, you would have to do it about 1.5 blocks away. Evenings and weekends, you can typically park in front of the house.

$150 deposit (cash or Paypal) to hold the space. The deposit will be applied toward the rent, but is not refundable if you cancel. I am in the (very fortunate:) position of having more demand than can be accommodated, thus the deposit requirement. Full rent, plus $200 security deposit is due upon move in -CASH ONLY ONLY.

No pets, no drugs, no drama. Please let me know a bit about yourself, why you need temporary housing, and the specific dates you are interested in. SINGLE OCCUPANCY, NO EXCEPTIONS. ONE WEEK MINIMUM.

Three bedrooms, two and one half bathrooms, two-car garage, outdoor shower built brand new in January 1998 with countless major home improvement upgrades, Energy Star appliances and 5-star ammenities renting short-term or long-term one semi-unfurnished bedroom (master bedroom is not for rent) currently used solely as temporary rental with a hallway bathroom. Tenant's vehicle must park inside designated gated community parking lot below home or park vehicle outside gated community designated parking spaces. Heads Up: Parking is prohibited in RED ZONE STRIPED curb inside gated community. However, there is a TV, DVD and complete sound system set up if you like to watch your personal selection of DVD's.

- seconds away from N Judah line to DT
- you'll have your own roof space for bbq's on sunny days
- surrounded by shops and great eats
- local grocery store is a minute's walk away
- no need for a car but if you have one plenty of street parking
