There are two awesome cats and if you could take care of them that would be fabulous, but we can have a friend do it if not (and I'd be willing to take care of any pets you have, of course!). The apartment is on the third floor, no elevator--just a warning!

ABOUT OUR HOME: 2 bedroom / 2 bath 1600 sq. ft. adobe home. Kiva fireplace, vigas, SS appliances, leather couches, plasma / HD TV, Wi Fi, Satellite TV, Tempur –Pedic king bed in one room, queen bed & toddler bed in other room. There is an attached 600 sq. ft. studio apartment that we currently rent to skiers during the winter months (this is already spoken for by a retired couple that likes to ski in Taos - they can provide unbiased insight on us and our home if you want). The walls on an adobe home are 2 ft. thick (literally) so sound or disturbances from the adjoining apartment are never an issue. We are located 10 min. from the town of Taos and 15 min. from the Taos Ski Valley.
ABOUT US: I own an art gallery in Taos & my husband is doing some consulting work in the Bay area. We have a 2 1/2 year old son, 1 cat (indoor / outdoor tabby cat), & 1 dog (4 month old Blue Heeler). The animals could be pet sat by area friends / family...unless you are a pet lover & wouldn't mind having them around. Since winter is the slow time for the gallery it's perfect for me to leave it in the hands of others while I join my husband in the Bay area. He currently stays with friends but the accommodations would be a tight for all of us so I'd like us to have our own place while I am there with my son for the winter.

I live an active (athletic), healthy and quiet lifestyle and will happily spend time walking, involving dogs in fun outdoor activities of their choosing. We are in a fabulous brownstone Brooklyn neighborhood with amazing restaurants and great arts/music/boutique shopping. One top-10 NY Times restaurant around the corner, another nearby. Many of our Manhattan-dwelling friends come to our neighborhood for weekend fun. Safe area with a police precinct ˝ block away.
SUBWAYS: 15 minute ride to Chinatown in Manhattan! 2/3 at Bergen Street is one block away, B/Q at 7th Ave is 3 blocks away, 5-minute walk to Atlantic Ave station, which is served by numerous subway lines.
OUR APT:
2BR, 1 bath, approx 800 square feet (second BR used as an office with wifi), and large private back yard with deck. It is a long, narrow apartment which is one half of the ground floor of a brownstone. The building is 8 units. Our apt is extremely clean, colorful, artistic, and a pleasure to spend time in. High ceilings and sunny living room with a canopy of plants. We have one shy, sweet, low-maintenance cat who could live with friends while we are away.

WHO WE ARE:
My husband and I are SF Bay Area natives. We will be visiting our families over the Christmas and New Years holidays. We are extremely responsible, considerate, clean and respectful and we expect the same.
Two professionals are looking to swap a spacious 1BR+ flat in San Francisco for a similar place in the Los Angeles area for the Thanksgiving weekend and for Manhattan over the Christmas and/or New Year holiday. We'd also be open to other swaps throughout the year.
The flat is 2BR (although only one room is set up as a bedroom with queen bed, there is also a comfortable queen sofabed in the living room), 1BA, newly renovated kitchen, WiFi, cable, beautiful shared back yard, centrally located in the Duboce Park area, very close to every MUNI line in the Bay area and within walking distance of the Castro, Haight and the Mission and a half-block from a leash-free dog park.
We're looking for a pet-friendly swap. We have two cats that would need minimal attention (they go in and out through the pet door) and we would plan to bring our well-behavied Border Collie mix dog to LA for the weekend. Cat-friendly dogs are welcome here as well.

The swap don't has to be simultaneous. After the week in San Francisco we will be traveling to Hawaii. So in case of a housing swap you could stay in our apartment for more than just 1 week.
