Hey everyone...so about three months ago I started posting ads on Craigslist to see what other people out there might be going through the same shift in consciousness that I was going through based on the Eckhart Tolle books. To my surprise, there were a ton of likeminded people and a group was then established called A Good Idea (www.agoodideasf.org). As the group kept having more and more meetings where we'd often discuss the Tolle books and watching Eckhart Tolle seminars, the group began to have an interest in taking our newfound awareness and presence and sharing it with the world. A few weeks ago we had our 1st big event called Intentional Acts of Kindness. You can read about it here: http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/08/03/BAMT124BEE.DTL

We meet weekly and plan to have many more events coming up in the near future. We will be having our next meeting next Tuesday, September 2nd, at 6:30pm. We will be meeting at the Red Vic Peace Cafe located at 1665 Haight St. (at Cole). As we are in the process of putting together a school challenge to empower the youth to come up with their own Good Idea's, this week we'll be sharing our own ideas on events/projects that could help change the world.

This group is filled with amazing, smart, driven people who want to make great changes in the world. If you are interested in checking it out please email me at jmp1930@hotmail.com and I'll add you to the evite.

Thanks,

Stages and Steps

STAGE ONE: REMEMBERING
1. I am in a breakthrough crisis, having gained some sense of my abuse.
2. I have determined that I was physically, sexually or emotionally abused as a child.
3. I have made a commitment to recovery from my childhood abuse.
4. I shall re-experience each set of memories as they surface in my mind.
5. I accept that I was powerless over my abusers' actions, which holds THEM responsible.
6. I can respect my shame and anger as a consequence of my abuse, but shall try not to turn it against myself or others.
7. I can sense my inner child whose efforts to survive now can be appreciated.
STAGE TWO: MOURNING
8. I have made an inventory of the problem areas in my adult life.
9. I have identified the parts of myself connected to self-sabotage.
10.I can control my anger and find healthy outlets for my aggression.
11.I can identify faulty beliefs and distorted perceptions in myself and others.
12.I am facing my shame and developing self-compassion.
13.I accept that I have the right to be who I want to be and live the way I want to live.
14.I am able to grieve my childhood and mourn the loss of those who failed me.
STAGE THREE: HEALING
15.I am entitled to take the initiative to share in life's riches.
16.I am strengthening the healthy parts of myself, adding to my self-esteem.
17.I can make necessary changes in my behavior and relationships at home and work.
18.I have resolved the abuse with my offenders to the extent that is acceptable to me.
19.I hold my own meaning about the abuse that releases me from the legacy of the past.
20.I see myself as a thriver in all aspects of life - love, work, parenting, and play.
21.I am resolved in the reunion of my new self and eternal soul.

Sitting here, talking to you, I start to wonder about the tough times people & families are going through right now. Somehow, trouble seems to find us and each day piles on one more burden that we are not strong enough to carry.

Each one of us has gone through a moment in time when everything that we ever worked hard for was lost. Each day we know that the sun comes up, yet, we only find a cloud of darkness above us.

Do you have a repeating pattern of unhealthy relationships? (San Francisco)

Do you seem to have a recurring pattern of "bad" relationships or relationships with people who aren't really "available"?

Would you be interested in a support group for individuals that's focused on Building Partnerships and Healthy Relationships that meets one evening a week?

The Focus Statement of our group reads as follows:

"Partnership building and healthy sexuality exist as a normal, natural part of our creative process. We have the privilege and responsibility to honor that gift. We have seen, or hope to see, transformation in ourselves and others from destructive relationship patterns and sexualized behavior to nurturing partnership and healthy sexual expression. As our spiritual connection grows it gives us an increasing ability to define and then experience health in these important realms of our lives."

"Growing toward building partnership and/or experiencing healthy sexuality requires that we take risks. We have found that we needed to avail ourselves to the unknown, to new, oftentimes uncomfortable territory. It may be hard for us to try different approaches to partnership, sex and love because in the past these have proven to be so painful for us. We have truly felt undeserving."

"It is important to embrace these feelings of fear and shame, yet we need to
challenge our misguided core beliefs. For this reason, we approach these areas of life with a sense joyous adventure and a gentle pace."

"Both partnership building and healthy sexuality is a process. A process that involves awareness, willingness, gentleness, work and time. As we progress, we
acquire new tools and valuable insight, but try as we might we cannot fast forward time with our wills. Each person has his or her own process which needs to be accepted and honored. We arc not all in the same place on the continuum of recovery and health."

Ours is not a group organized by a religious faith, a "lifecoach", a licensed therapist, or therapist trainee.

Ours is a 12-Step, 12-Traditions fellowship group that is based on the model that was pioneered by Alcoholics Anonymous. As anonymity is one of the foundation of our fellowship, members identify themselves by first name only.

Our weekly meeting alternates between 1) a guest speaker (someone from within our fellowship) who speaks for 15-20 minutes on their personal experience, strength, hope, and recovery in building parnerships and/or healthy sexuality and 2) the reading and discussion of literature focused on building parnerships and/or healthy sexuality, followed each week by "sharing" and "getting current". Our meeting is a "no crosstalk" meeting where everyone's boundaries and opinions are respected in order that everyone can feel free to share as openly and as honestly as they can.

We have no affiliation with any religious organization.

We regard differences of gender and sexual orientation as irrelevant.

Our meeting is approximately 50/50 men/women, usually 20-25 participants. It takes place once a week.

Our group is focused on the emotional well-being and sobriety of the individual.

Cost: The suggested contribution is $2 per meeting, but we ask newcomers not to contribute the first time as a sign of our welcome.

If you're interested, send us an email via the above link and we'll get back to you with more information. Feel free to ask any questions you like about our meeting and our group. We'll do our best to answer them.

Fibromyalgia & Chronic Fatigue & Immune Dysfunction Support Group (San Francisco)

The San Francisco Fibromyalgia (FM) and Chronic Fatigue
Immune Dysfunction Syndrome (CFIDS) Self-Help and Advocacy Group meets on the 2nd Saturday every month, 2-4pm. (Please note: Beginning in Jan., 2008, we meet the 2nd instead of the 1st Sat. of each month) This takes place in rm. B2/3 at the Davies Campus of CPMC (address below). The next meeting will be Saturday, September 13, 2-4pm.

This group is for people with FM,CFIDS, and/or chronic myofascial pain - or
those who think they may have one of these disorders. Friends and family are also welcome. Observers, such as healthcare providers, may attend if they identify themselves as such. Observers are invited to listen and learn, but advice-giving and self-promotion are not acceptable.

Location: Davies Campus of the California Pacific Medical Center, at Castro

St. and Duboce St. Enter the North tower, take the elevator to

level B. Parking in the garage is free. Take a ticket when you enter and

insert it into the slot when you leave. You will not be charged. Sometimes a ticket is not given when entering. If that is the case, you still won't be charged. Public transportation: N, J, 22, 24, 6, 7, 66, 71. Wheelchair accessible.

This is a ***FRAGRANCE FREE*** meeting. And please DO NOT come to the meeting if you are CONTAGIOUS.

Those who come are encouraged to stand, walk around, or whatever they need to do, in order to be comfortable. Bring a sheet if you need to lay down.

Our group purpose is multi-fold. The main reason we meet is for emotional

support, but self-help, education, and political advocacy go hand-in-hand.

Our focus will be on what we CAN do to improve our health and functionality.

Our medical treatment options may be limited, but what we can do about it is NOT. We do this in the following ways:

· by supporting each other, and sharing our experiences, strength, and hope

· by sharing information about doctors, health care providers, and other

resources

· by using political advocacy to increase research into treatments, and

raise awareness about FM

· and by following the CFIDS and FM Self-Help program created by Bruce

Campbell
The meeting adopts part of it's format from the CFIDS/FM Self-Help Support
Group format, based in cognitive behavioral therapy and created by Bruce
Campbell Ph.D. Here is Campbell's description of the program:

FM changes every part of our lives: how much we can do, our ability to work,
our moods, our relationships, our finances, our hopes and dreams, and our
sense of who we are. Adding to the challenge is the fact that it is a
chronic illness, with no cure or standard medical treatment. Living with
this illness can often feel overwhelming and discouraging.

The CFIDS & FM Self-Help program was developed as a response. The program
is based on belief in the value of self-help: we can learn how to feel
better and increase our chances for recovery by taking responsibility for
the parts of our illness over which we have control. It is also based on
belief in the power of groups: we can help ourselves and one another by
meeting to discuss our experience, and share hope and support with one
another.

We believe there is much we can do to limit the effects of symptoms, to

bring predictability, and to improve quality of life. Strategies include:

- finding and accepting the limits imposed by the illness

- pacing ourselves through balancing activity and rest

- reducing the stresses in our lives

- using medications

- nurturing ourselves through positive and pleasurable experiences

- sustaining ourselves through supportive relationships

- maintaining a positive outlook ***

There is always sharing in the first part of the meeting. What we do in the

second part will always change. Possibilities. Workshops; general

discussions; reading; FM awareness day activities, including letter writing

campaigns, and interviews with the media; show and tell (bring in something

that you have found helpful, i.e. massage tools, a special kind of heating

pad); potluck; poetry/literature reading; topic discussion; speaker;

planning meetings with local elected officials.

Please make an effort to be on time to the meeting, as late arrivals can be

disruptive, especially to those who are sharing. It's better that you come

to the meeting late, than not at all, but please make a concerted effort to

come on time.

Music Appreciation Club Seeks New Members to Make Great Mixes! (mission district)

Are you on the hunt for great new music on a near daily basis? Do you enjoy music of the independent rock & pop persuasion? Do you like surfing Web radio stations for the next artist to love? Do you commonly make CD compilations for your friends?
What if you could get a well-crafted compilation in your mailbox every week and multiply your music exposure by a factor of 8?
If the answer to all or most of the questions above is yes, please read on if you're interested in joining a club dedicated to music sharing and appreciation.

The format of the club is as follows:
- All virtual (group email) and snail mail (to distribute your mixes)
- Each member is a designated a rotating week approximately every 8 weeks (e.g. 2nd week of every other month) to create a stereo-playable audio CD mix and snail-mail a copy of the mix to all other members.
- Every week has a different member assigned so the rest of the club gets something new each week.
- Each mix/CD/compilation can involve a theme of the creator's choosing (or no theme at all)

Requirements for all members:
- A PC or Mac capable, blank CD-R discs, and a program for burning CD mixes
- Reliable, rimely production and mailing of mix on turn (each member is allowed one "mulligan" for holidays & emergencies)
- At least one communication to the group when mixes are mailed
- Creation of audio format CDs playable in any stereo (not MP3 or data CDs requiring a computer to hear)
- Inclusion of at least a numbered artist & track listing, and a plastic case or paper CD sleeve

Nice-to-haves:
- An enjoyment of music writing (some past members have include musical essays/ramblings and/or track-by-track comments with their mixes)
- An enjoyment of CD design (faces, covers, liner notes)
- An enjoyment of music exploration/challenges
- A penchant for music technology/toys

If interested, so that we can chat and hopefully ask you into the group, please email ALL the following information (you can copy/paste this section into your email and include your replies):
- Your full name, location (doesn't need to be Bay Area), and phone number
- A description of the sources you usually turn to for music listening
- One or more of the following:
* A track listing of the last mix you made
* A track listing of a mix you'd like to make right now
* The names of 5 artists and songs you couldn't live without

I look forward to sharing great music with you!

I started an upscale travel business for women & couples who love to travel to European destinations such as Italy, France, Spain. I am looking for more clients and i realize that spending hours on social networking sites and sending out monthly E newsletter is not generating more traffic & more customers.
I think it is time to change the way we all market ourselves, a friend of mine who is in the real Estate business told me about cross marketing. "you all help each other, because cross marketing is nothing more than foot traffic with other businesses". I believe that other businesses offer well defined products and services related to mine but not in competition with my company. " Imagine that its a popular mall that generates foot traffic". I thought about my travel business & other companies that could help me grow as well as my travel company helping them grow. I could see so far clubs for Baby boomers, Bridal companies ( Couples on their honeymoon), Small businesses owned by women who also can afford to travel abroad. If you come up with more ideas, Please contact me at, anne@womendestinationclub.com. Visit my website at, www.womendestinationclub.com
Also women owners only apply & we could meet every month & work on a list of companies that can help each other & not be in competition with each other.

Master H.L. Schauer founded the Shaolin Wudang Association to teach practical martial arts to dedicated and mindful people in the local community. Training at the school includes traditional Kung Fu (Northern Shaolin, Hung Gar and Wing Chun), Daoist arts (Tai Chi, Ba Gua and Xing Yi), practical self defense techniques like grappling, defense against weapons, and many other skills synthesized from the best martial arts sources around the world. Members of the school gain strength and confidence with an emphasis on mental, physical and spiritual balance as well as a strong social ethic of awareness, compassion and fairness.

The lessons serve as a path toward real personal development in terms of physical ability, mental awareness and spiritual growth. The learning environment is welcoming to all types of people, young and old, fast or slow, and can provide a much needed network of honest hardworking people with integrity and values that support eachother. Combine the best exercise in the world, realistic self defense technique and solid philosophical and ethical foundations and you have the Shaolin Wudang Association.

Rates are very reasonable considering the level of training, and are determined on a sliding scale based on income. Come visit a class(see website for schedule) or contact Master Schauer at (415) 564-9282 and email: swakungfu@gmail.com.

As part of Toastmasters International, Asian Express has a long history of public speaking in a fun, educational, and supportive atmosphere.

Asian Express Toastmasters was founded originally on July 11, 1977 and celebrated its 30th anniversary on July 11, 2007.

At Asian Express Toastmasters, you will learn to overcome your fear of public speaking, learn the techniques of giving powerful and effective speeches, and learn invaluable leadership skills. You will be fully supported by a group of friendly, sincere people who are committed to your success.

You are welcome to join us, every second and fourth Wednesday of each month from 6:30PM to 8:00PM, True Sunshine Church, 1430 Mason Street (Between Pacific Avenue and Broadway), San Francisco, CA 94133. Street parking is subject to availability. Dutch treat dinner at a local restaurant follows each meeting.
All meetings are open to the general public. Even though the name of the club is Asian Express, both Asians and non-Asians are welcome. Guests, and current and former Toastmaster members are always welcome.

While there is only time for a few members to deliver prepared speeches each week, we do give everyone an opportunity to speak in front of the group even if very briefly. Come join the fun!

Therapy group for teen girls (pacific heights)

Are you a high school freshman or sophomore girl needing help to navigate some of the following challenges?

Are you overwhelmed managing your coursework, friends, extracurricular commitments, and family obligations and need help finding a more balanced lifestyle?

Does your sense of self-esteem and your mood shift according to the events in your life in a way that makes you feel like you’re on a roller coaster?

Are you struggling to build or maintain meaningful friendships?

Are you having a tough time balancing your friendships with your family relationships?

Is it sometimes difficult to make choices and sort through conflicting sources of advice to identify what makes you happy?

What: The Launch Pad is an ongoing support group for high school freshman and sophomore girls who want a supportive, collaborative, and therapeutic environment to process the stressors in their lives and learn coping skills and strategies to help them get to the next stage.

Where: 2340 Jackson St, 4th Floor, San Francisco. This building was formerly Newcomer High School.

When: Mondays from 4:30 to 5:45. The group will start in October and meet once a week for three months.

Who: Lisa Beritzhoff MFT 36234 and Carin Chou MFTI 48686 have counseled students in schools in the San Francisco Bay Area for the past 10 years and are warm and compassionate listeners who can help you work through your challenges in a unique way. They both work with adolescents and families in their private practices on emotional and social issues that impact their clients’ lives.

Why: We live in a world of gossip girls and mean girls, with intense pressure about college and the future. Being a teen in today’s fast paced world can be especially challenging for young women whose main developmental task is to figure out how to meaningfully define themselves. Young women do not often get the needed time and space to do this. This group offers teens a place to discover and imagine themselves in new and healthy ways.

Fee: $50 per session. Three month commitment required.

Contact: Lisa Beritzhoff at (415) 255-3276 or lisa@lisaberitzhoff.com or Carin Chou at CarinChouMFT@gmail.com to sign up.

Hi my name is che. I'm looking for some people who have read kevins tradeaus weight loss cure and are into living a healthy lifestyle. I am doing the simeons protocal and i'm starting to realize that my friends aren't really my friends and that i need to start making new friends. Meaning my old friends want to stay fat and depressed and couldn't give a damn about their health and seem to be turning agianst me just because i lost 50lbs and i'm trying to make my life better. They keep trying to shove fast food into my face and keep taking me to resteraunts and can't seem to grasp the concept of genetically modified food. One of them is 340lbs,he works at togos and he thinks he is a fitness and dieting expert. He's tyring to tell me that you can eat whatever you want including fast food and lose weight just by working out. even though he has seen me lose alot of weight with his own eyes the idiots won't listin. I has watched and seen me refuse to eat fast food or resteraunt food over and over again and he refuses to read the weight loss cure. Like i said, i need to start hanging out with some new people.

About me

I'm a male 24.
5'11 240lbs. Before protocal i was 315.
Black and white. Kinda like barrack obama. Or if hiliary clinton desided to dumb bill and hook up with a black guy and have a kid. I think if she did that she would be justified and it would be really funny.
I live by myself downtown in the tenderlion in a res hotel.
I am a contractor for muni. I install electronic devices on the muni buses.
I've been living in the city for a year now.
I want to start finding more people who are doing the same thing that i'm doing. Doing the protocal by your self with no kind of support kind of sucks.

If your interested call me sometime at 415-573-6774.
I don't own a computer so i only get to check my email once a week.

Sometimes half the battle in writing is simply showing up to the page! I'm interested in starting a creative writing group to meet once or twice a month in the early evening for writing exercises as well as freestyle writing, to read works from our meetings, and to offer constructive feedback to one another. In short, something less formal than a workshop but with a bit of a prod to get the creativity flowing. Our first gathering would be Wednesday September 3 at 6:00 at a location to be determined.

My personal interest is fiction and non-fiction such as travel writing, food writing, and memoir but am wide open to whatever genres want to meet and share with each other.

I'd like to keep the group to five or six people to start, meeting in more intimate bars (like the back room in Hotel Biron) or cafes central for everyone.

Drop me an email if you are interested in joining and tell me a bit about yourself and your interest in writing. I'm thinking of getting together on Wednesdays from 6:00 - 8:00, the frequency depending on the interest of the group and how often we can meet.

1. Being unclear about your financial situation. Not knowing account balances, monthly expenses, loan interest rates, fees, fines, or contractual obligations.

2. Frequently "borrowing" items such as books, pens, or small amounts of money from friends and others, and failing to return them.

3. Poor saving habits. Not planning for taxes, retirement or other not-recurring but predictable items, and then feeling surprised when they come due; a "live for today, don't worry about tomorrow" attitude."
4. Compulsive shopping: Being unable to pass up a "good deal"; making impulsive purchases; leaving price tags on clothes so they can be returned; not using items you've purchased.
5. Difficulty in meeting basic financial or personal obligations, and/or an inordinate sense of accomplishment when such obligations are met.
7. Living in chaos and drama around money: Using one credit card to pay another; bouncing checks; always having a financial crisis to contend with.

There is no proverbial secret of which I am the sole purveyor. A prophetic guru therefore I am not. You may as well know from the very beginning that my writing is a non-prophet endeavour. I am very much open to exploring the multitude of possibilities for partial answers that permeate the universe, and sincerely wish to discover the noteworthy probabilities of postulating pertinent hypotheses. The relative truth of the matters to be discussed herein may remain stubbornly elusive despite our best efforts, and the metaphysical quest for meaning and purpose will most likely continue beyond these words, consequently it is my deepest hope that the mystical voice of uncertainty hereby expressed will serendipitously find hungry ears that can perpetually nourish growing minds. If you agree, you are welcome to join us. Please visit our web page at www.myspace.com/HuhMoments, or write to me at HuhMoments@gmail.com. My bequest to you is to be the quest. May we be so blessed as to know beyond any doubt that we will always have many doubts.

Reiki Sangha - Training and Attunements (downtown / civic / van ness)

Details

Ongoing Reiki Training & Attunements

Reiki is a term commonly used to describe universal life force healing energy.

Sangha is a term used to describe community.

The Reiki Sangha is a community of healers who desire to improve their life and their community by participating in ongoing training, treatments and attunements.

Generally speaking, Reiki has four basic certificate grades:

Level 1 - the practitioner may practice Reiki hands-on.

Level 2 - the practitioner may practice Reiki by distance (perceived time-space limits do not apply).

Level 3 (Reiki Master) - the practitioner may perform some attunements (limited by the person teaching).

Level 4 (Reiki Master Teacher) - the practitioner may perform all attunements and teach.

Usually, these certificate grades are awarded during a single weekend workshop (or less).

The reality of the situation, however, is that a single attunement or ceremony will not bestow the rank and spiritual power or abilities of Reiki Level One, Reiki Level Two, or Reiki Master to the student.

Through The Reiki Sangha, the skills of these levels are earned by regular participation, reliability, commitment, honesty, integrity and demonstration of all noble virtues to the community.

By participating in regular community activities (both in the Sangha and out), learning the process of universal energy-work and demonstrating the skills gained, new levels of awareness are gained through personal experience.

Successful training through The Reiki Sangha requires self-honesty. Begin to observe yourself and your awareness of spiritual energies. Be honest in your observations to your self, and to community members around you. Where the student skill-set is with respect to these levels is determined by self-honesty and the demonstration of those skills to the community through regular participation.

Each member of The Reiki Sangha is committed to helping others awaken to the universal healing energies within each other. "If you want to lift yourself up, lift up someone else" said Booker T. Washington in the 18th century. BT Washington had a profound understanding of the human condition; we can not help others by keeping others in their place (beneath "us") but rather by helping others awaken their potential, enabling them to gain a greater understanding of their being and of ours.

A little about what we do in class (may vary depending on skill level): kicks, punches, sets, hand and weapon sparring. We have 5 different animals in our system: Crane, Tiger, Snake, Leopard, and Dragon. A few weapons in our system are staff, sword, and saber.

We practice in the basement, so the lights upstairs are usually off. Just walk in and come down to the basement.

M4M Monogamy Group, a Place to Meet other Monogamous Men (san francisco)

Geoff's Cab

A straight friend who drove cab in SF, until he retired from years of careful real estate investing (damn he's good), told me on many occasions about the socially wounded gay men who would ride home in the back of his cab.

Really the most shocking stories he told were of the "beautiful" gay men who would cry all the way home from the Castro, as my friend drove them. Usually their emotional agony had to do with becoming "jaded old queens", decades before aging physically.

How so? I think the heart withers in a gay ghetto culture that quite actively (oh yes-) shames: closeness, monogamy and commitment in favor of sex on drugs (or while drunk), with as many throw-away partners as possible.

It is in the spirit of offering a real alternative to the above, that our group was begun as a place for: gay and bisexual men, 18 and older, who value monogamous companionship; our friends, family, and supporters.

While the majority of our membership lives in the San Francisco Bay Area, all monogamous gay and bisexual men are welcome to join.

This is a free photo personals site helping individual monogamous gay/bi men find one another.

There are no group meetings.

Some will join to screen-out non-monogamous partners, in the course of finding a close companion.

All can bring the value of personal experience and a willingness to support and learn on the spiritual path of monogamous companionship.

This is not a place to challenge monogamy. Here it is simply a principal, without attachment to any particular organized religion.

Now with over 480 members, just as with our 300+ member yahoo m4m monogamy group, this has primarily become a group that monogamous gay/bi men can silently join in order to "neon sign" to other gay/bi men: "Hey! I'm monogamous. Are you?"

We are located on a free community website. Unfortunately craigslist does not allow the posting of free community website URLs. So if you would like the group's online address, just reply to this post and I will send it along.

Cheers,

Castro Community on Patrol is a kind of walking neighborhood watch. We are made up of a diverse group of volunteers who are committed to helping keep the Castro and surrounding neighborhoods a safe, fun, and friendly space in which to live, play, party, and visit. The patrol is sanctioned by the Mayor¡¦s office, supported SPFD, and organized under San Francisco Safety Awareness For Everyone (SF SAFE.)

Volunteers go through a two hour training class, then join other volunteers or their friends to walk a ¡§patrol¡¨ for three hours once a month. The patrol are the eyes and ears of the community. We don¡¦t arrest people, break up fights, or hassle the homeless. We do record and report dangerous sidewalks, dark streets, suspicious activity, and we give out safety whistles and safety information to everyone we meet during our patrols.

¡§Castro Patrol is a great way for friends to spend a couple of hours together, walking around the Castro and finding places you never knew existed, all while doing a wonderful community service. It¡¦s so much fun, and it¡¦s good exercise at the same time¡¨ says Dave a patrol volunteer.

Our next Patrol Volunteer Training class is coming up soon.

Hey everybody!

So our group, A Good Idea (www.agoodideasf.org), is having another Eckhart Tolle (author of The Power of Now and A New Earth) movie night on Tuesday, 8/26, and the last two movie nights were awesome. The group is all about raising awareness in society through positive actions. Here's the Chronicle article on our first event:

http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?f=/c/a/2008/08/03/BAMT124BEE.DTL

Eckhart is unbelieveable to watch and listen to as he's very aware and present. We'll watch the seminar which will last about an hour and 20 minutes and then have a short discussion. We will be getting together to watch the movie at the Red Vic Peace Cafe located at 1665 Haight St (at Cole). There will be a suggested donation of $5 as we will be renting the room from the Red Vic. Food and drinks available for purchase and we'll be able to hold up to 60 people. This event will be open to the public as the The Red Vic will be advertising the movie night so if you are interested respond to the evite
