Position: Mechanical Design Engineer
Essential Duties: MeiVac is seeking an experienced Mechanical Engineer who will work with a multi-disciplined team responsible for designing and developing a fully automated, load-locked vacuum deposition tool for use in Hard Disk Drive Thin Film Head and related markets. Additional duties will include executing designs for MeiVac’s other vacuum deposition tools and its line of vacuum sputtering and control components. The successful candidate will be capable of working independently and have demonstrated familiarity with best practices utilized in the designs of complex, automated vacuum deposition or etch tools.
Education & Experience: A BSME degree or equivalent is required. Candidates must have at least 4 years of experience designing high vacuum deposition and/or etching tools used in Semiconductor manufacturing or related high volume 24/7 production environments. Experience designing for sputtering and/or ion beam deposition applications will be a plus. Proficiency with SolidWorks is essential. Demonstrated understanding of design for manufacturability as well as engineering design and documentation practices is essential
