Position Description: Project Accountant
Bloom Energy, a fuel cell start-up company moving from development stage to commercialization stage is seeking an experienced Project Accountant. This position will perform a variety of project accounting functions and will work closely with the Controller and Project Managers to ensure the integrity and timeliness of project accounting information.
Role and Responsibilities:
Preparing and maintaining project accounting in Oracle including:
Adding and modifying Project Master Data
Preparing Project Entries
Uploading labor and miscellaneous project adjustments
Analysis of Project Data
Prepare, distribute, file and maintain project-related financial reports, contract files and corresponding sub-contract agreements
Prepare monthly customer invoices in accordance with contractual standards
Maintain existing management reports including project status reports including WIP analysis
Reconcile project costs, accounts receivable, and general ledger monthly; account for differences
Work with Project Managers on project numbering, segmenting, and task structure
Participate in budgeting, forecasting, variances, and revenue analysis
Comply with month-end-close schedule and finance deadlines
Make adjustments for project labor and expenses
Provide support data for DCAA audit purposes
Skills and Experience:
5+ project accounting experience, BS in Accounting
Experience managing government contracts strongly preferred, Aerospace industry experience ideal, construction project accounting also a plus
Cost accounting experience a plus
Proficient in Oracle or SAP
Advanced Excel skills and proficiency with general ledger and project/job ledger required
Excellent communication skills with strong attention to detail
Motivated self-starter who has a desire to learn new things
Flexible, team player with strong ability to multi-task essential
