THE CAREER OPPORTUNITY

CCWD has an immediate opening for an Assistant or Associate Engineer in both the Engineering Department and the Construction Department. The ideal candidate is a highly motivated self-starter with demonstrated knowledge of design and construction of water treatment and distribution facilities and civil engineering principles. Typical assignments consist of consultant management of large water works projects such as reservoir, pumping plant, distribution system, and water treatment plant enhancements and rehabilitations; design of small in-house projects; and engineering support to various departments within the District.

QUALIFICATIONS

Assistant Level: Two years of responsible professional civil engineering and a California Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certificate are required. Associate Level: Two years of progressively increasing civil engineering experience, preferably working in the design and construction of water systems and facilities, and possession of a Certificate of Registration as a Civil Engineer (PE) in the State of California are required. A Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in civil engineering or a related field for both levels is required along with the possession of, or ability to obtain, a California Driver’s License. The successful candidate must pass a criminal background check and pre-employment physical and drug test.
